Maker Camp is doing a virtual field trip to one of our launches today! Join the live hangout at 11am PDT to see what I do, or at least what I support (they’ll hopefully show a bit of Mission Control after the launch — that software is the part I’m responsible for).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We\u2019re very excited about this week\u2019s Field Trip Friday to Project Loon, at the top-secret Google X. Since it\u2019s Fun & Games Week, we figured we\u2019d play with some balloons, but these Loon balloons are special: They\u2019re designed to float in the stratosphere and provide Internet connectivity to people down on Earth.\u00a0<\/p>

We\u2019ll be talking with the Project Loon designers and makers, and then, weather permitting, we\u2019ll get to watch a live Loon balloon launch! Check out this video to get a sense of how Project Loon works:\u00a0http:\/\/goo.gl\/PluF31<\/a><\/p>

We\u2019ll also be joined by Lauren Rojas, the girl who famously floated her Hello Kitty to space earlier this year! (She filmed the whole thing, which you can watch here:\u00a0http:\/\/goo.gl\/JSEHEE<\/a>)<\/p>
